2009 MBA Scholarships

The Graduate School of Business has established fee annulment scholarships for outstanding graduates progressing to the full time MBA program in 2009.

Number and value
2 x full tuition fee annulment scholarships valued at $34,920 each

Eligibility
These scholarships are for entry to the MBA program only and not for MBA (Executive) or MBA (Executive) Online.

To be eligible for the scholarships students must:

be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or holder of a permanent humanitarian or temporary protection visa, qualified to commence the MBA program in Semester 1 or 2, 2009
have completed a Bachelor degree with a minimum 70% average within the last 5 years*
commence the 1 year full time MBA program in either Semester 1 or 2, 2009**
be able to attend an interview at a time set by the Graduate School of Business (tbc, mid January 2009).

* Applicants who will not complete their undergraduate qualification until the end of Semester1, 2009 are eligible to apply, and if successful, take up the scholarship in Semester 2 2009, subject to satisfactory completion of their degree program.

** The criteria for the scholarship excludes part time enrolment and the scholarship can not be deferred beyond commencement in Semester 2, 2009

Applications
In addition to the usual MBA application process, applicants must complete the 2008 MBA Scholarships Application Form.

We regret that students who do not submit an application form by the deadline can not be considered for the award.

Applications close: Friday 19th December 2009.

Selection Criteria
The candidates will be assessed on:

academic excellence; and
evidence social and community leadership and engagement; and
potential for MBA candidature

Short listed candidates will be required to attend an interview at a time set by the Graduate School of Business (tbc, mid January 2009).

Notification
Successful applicants will be notified in the last week of January 2009.

Conditions
Scholarship holders must enrol full-time and complete their MBA in one full year of enrolment, completing in either February or July 2010.
The scholarships are in the form of tuition fee annulment.
The scholarships are subject to academic review after each study period and scholarship holders are required to maintain a distinction (70%) average throughout their enrolment.
The scholarships are valid for commencement in 2009 only and cannot be deferred.
Scholarship holders are not permitted to overload and can not enrol concurrently in another program.
Scholarship holders will be appointed an academic mentor and are required to inform the Graduate School of Business of any change to their enrolment which affects the conditions of the scholarship.
Scholarship holders may be asked to assist in the promotion of the MBA program at RMIT.
If, after short listing and interviewing applicants, an insufficient number of high calibre candidates are identified, the Graduate School of Business reserves the right to not award MBA Scholarships for 2009.
