Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship (CAS)

Students successful in receiving a CAS will receive $4,415 in 2009. This scholarship is indexed annually each year for the duration of your program (max 4 years). The scholarship is to assist with relocation and accommodation costs for students who have moved from a rural/regional area to study at RMIT. Payment will be made in two installments in May and September and will be deposited directly into your nominated bank account.

Eligible Students must be:

Undergraduate or Associate Degree or Graduate Diploma in Education or Nursing in 2009
Australian Citizens, have a Permanent Humanitarian Visa
Studying in a full-time program at RMIT, or have extenuating circumstances for studying only part-time
Experiencing demonstrated financial difficulties
Moved from a rural or regional area in the past four years, or recently completed their high schooling in a rural or regional area.

VTAC applicants

All students applying through VTAC for undergraduate places in 2009 are advised to apply through the VTAC Website using the Scholarships link.

Applications open 4 August 2008 and close 10 October 2008.

Direct (non-VTAC) applicants and current RMIT students

Non-VTAC applicants and current RMIT students must apply using the 2009 RMIT Equity Application form.
